SATURDAY APRIL 14th, 2012, 12 NOON – Rally to Save Asbury Park’s North Beach from Development! Join the Jersey Shore Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation, The American Littoral Society, and Citizens for Oceanfront Preservation for a dune grass planting and preservation rally to remind our public officials and iStar that we will accept nothing less than the preservation of this last coastal open space in Monmouth County.

The City of Asbury Park and iStar is amending the Waterfront Redevelopment Area Plan and the Monmouth County Park system sees the value in keeping this land as public open space. Now is the time for all parties to work together to save Asbury’s north end beach!

Dune grass planting will begin at 10 am, rally will begin at 12 noon. Throughout the event there will be tables with information and photos. Speakers will talk on the new beach access rules, the fight to save Asbury Park’s north end beach from development, and ways to help preserve the NJ coastline.noon).
