Localswell is always looking for your photo. Yeah, we'd like to say we can get everywhere, but we can't so, that's where you come in. Here's a few guides to help get your photos on this site.
First we're looking for all types of surf related images. Local, Travel, Wahine, everything ... and not just water/wave shots. Lifestyles ... loosely translated, everything. Beach, rides, party, scenics, lineups, bikinis, kids, grandparents, yeah the waves and surfers too. Don't forget History! We'll find a page to put them on.
So far we've posted hundreds of photos taken by you.
Guidelines to make this all easier and to make your stuff look it's best
Let me know where in NJ you're from, where you are in the phooto and who shot it.
1. Size: Bigger is not always better. Recc'd size is 7 inches on it's biggest side at 72 dpi. We talking internet, not print. If you're send to mags always send them as big a possible.
2. Format: JPEG files are best for our purposes. We can take gif and tiff, but we'll convert them to jpg so you might as well do that. RGB if you have a choice. Save at it's highest setting if you have a choice there too.
3. Sharpness: Don't over sharpen. I'll bump it if it really needs it.
4. Have Fun: This is a local site. This is not Surfer Mag. We're trying to rep NJ, not the world. It doesn't have to be overhead to submit. This section is about you.
